Moroccan Soccer Fans Chant Pro-Sahara Slogans in Algeria After Raja Victory

Following the victory of Raja of Casablanca against Mouloudia of Algiers, in the Mohammed VI Cup, the supporters chanted strong slogans in the streets of Algeria, to defend the Moroccan Sahara.
"We have come here with political minds to say that the Sahara is Moroccan", "khawa khawa" (brothers forever). These are the slogans that the supporters chanted to celebrate the victory of Raja against Mouloudia of Algiers.
In a real euphoria, they defended the sovereignty of Morocco over its provinces in the Sahara region. They also said that the Moroccan and Algerian peoples are brothers. In other words, the supporters called for the warming of bilateral relations between these two Maghreb countries.
For more than a quarter of a century, relations between Morocco and Algeria have cooled due to political conflicts, particularly the Sahara issue. With the advent of the new regime, Algiers continues to support the Polisario Front and its demands for independence.
This demonstration by the supporters of Raja of Casablanca, is clearly aimed at bringing hearts closer together at a time of renewed diplomatic tension between Morocco and Algeria.
