Moroccan Singer Saad Lamjarred Returns Home Despite Rape Conviction

After a long absence, the Moroccan singer Saad Lamjarred is back in Morocco. Sentenced to a six-year prison term for rape and aggravated assault in a trial against a French woman, he has been granted permission to travel to the Kingdom.
On Sunday, Saad Lamjarred arrived at Marrakech-Menara airport on a flight from Paris. He was accompanied by his brother and a group of friends. A return to Morocco immortalized by photos and videos and which coincides with the celebration of the singer’s birthday. A joy for the interpreter of "L’Maâlem". His legal troubles had prevented him from returning to Morocco.
In February 2023, the Paris Assize Court had sentenced Lamjarred to a six-year prison term for aggravated rape in a trial against Laura Prioul, a French woman. On April 20, he was released from prison after being granted provisional release.
The interpreter of "Lem3allam" will perform in Dubai on April 12, during the Dubai City Mall festival. He will also be in Egypt on April 14, where he will give a concert during an artistic evening.
