Moroccan Singer’s Ex-Husband Seeks Child Custody Amid Her Imprisonment

Mohamed Al Turk, the ex-husband of Dounia Batma, wants to take advantage of the incarceration of the singer to obtain custody of their daughters.
In a video shared on his social networks, Al Turk announced that he had hired three Moroccan lawyers to help him recover his daughters, Ghazal and Laila Rose, reaffirming his determination to obtain their custody, given that their mother, Dounia Batma, is in prison.
The lawyer of the Moroccan artist immediately reacted to these remarks, explaining that the detention of his client in the context of the "Hamza Mon Bébé" case is not enough to deprive her of the custody of her children.
In a statement to Al Jarida 24, the lawyer argues that the facts attributed to Dounia Batma are not likely to affect the custody of her daughters, recalling that his client is not being prosecuted for financial crimes or drug trafficking and that the interests of the children take precedence in custody matters.
Dounia Batma was arrested by the judicial police in a neighborhood of Casablanca. She was the subject of an arrest warrant issued by the Attorney General near the Court of Appeal of Marrakech.
