Moroccan Singer Dounia Batma Seeks Royal Pardon After Six Months in Prison

Dounia Batma’s lawyers are imploring King Mohammed VI to grant the singer a royal pardon on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. Sentenced to one year in prison in the "Hamza mon Bb" case, the star has already served half of her sentence.
Sources have confirmed to AlJarida24 that Batma’s defense is requesting a royal pardon for their client who has already spent six months in the Al Oudaya prison in Marrakech. The Moroccan singer was sentenced to one year in prison and a fine of 10,000 dirhams as part of the famous "Hamza mon Bb" case.
Under an arrest warrant, Dounia Batma was arrested by the judicial police in January at the home of her friend in downtown Casablanca. She had requested the royal pardon and her lawyers had taken legal steps in this direction, but the court had rejected these requests.
