Moroccan Singer’s Husband Missing: Police Investigate Abandonment or Drug Links

The worrying disappearance in Casablanca of singer Rym Fikri’s husband continues to fuel debates on social media. Meanwhile, the investigation led by the National Brigade of the Judicial Police (BNPJ) continues. Investigators favor the trail of "abandonment of the marital home" or drug trafficking.
"Rym Fikri was questioned on Monday, February 12 by the elements of the Judicial Police in order to record her testimony in a report," says Al Akhbar, specifying that the BNPJ investigators, at the current stage, favor the trail of "abandonment of the marital home". Sources have confided to the Arabic-language daily that "everything that is relayed on social networks in this regard is disinformation" and that "the singer will soon provide clarification" to the investigators.
The investigators are following a second trail, that of a settling of scores, in view of the abduction of Rym Fikri’s husband in front of his home, revealed by the surveillance camera recordings. Other sources claim that the drug trafficker nicknamed "Le Turbo" would be behind this abduction, stressing that the latter and the victim had recently argued "in a nightclub, a few days before this mysterious disappearance".
"Le Turbo" was arrested as part of this investigation. He had been prosecuted in court by Rym Fikri’s husband for a similar case in 2007, before being acquitted at first instance, the daily indicates, adding that the victim had appealed and that the verdict is still awaited.
