Moroccan Singer Dounia Batma Responds to Conviction in ’Hamza Mon BB’ Scandal Case

The 22-month prison sentence of Mohammed Madimi, the one through whom the Hamza mon BB scandal was revealed to the general public, did not leave the Moroccan artist Dounia Batma indifferent.
It is through her Instagram story that Dounia Batma reacted to the announcement of the conviction of Mohamed Madimi, president of the National Human Rights Center. The artist addressed her sister who is currently in prison: "Thank God, my sister, I was sure we would not lose our right. God will punish them one by one for what they have done. God is our refuge in this life and in the hereafter, God is patient but does not forget. And as I always repeat: God is enough for us and He is our best guardian. I pray that He keeps us away from the wrongdoers and takes revenge on the others."
In addition to the 22 months of actual imprisonment, the man must pay a fine of 3,000 dirhams. This civil society actor certainly did not expect such a turnaround by deciding to expose this case.
It should be noted that the court of first instance of Marrakech had sentenced, last July, Dounia Batma, prosecuted in the context of the Hamza mon bb affair, to 8 months in prison. Many other people have been convicted in this case which seems to have not yet revealed all its secrets.
