Moroccan Singer Abdelaziz Stati Criticizes Culture Ministry for Neglecting Artists During Pandemic

The Moroccan star of popular song, Abdelaziz Stati, has decided to support Moroccan artists, neglected by the Ministry of Culture, despite the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
In a Facebook post, the singer questioned the role of the artist’s card, issued by the supervisory ministry, if artists cannot claim compensation in this difficult situation.
For Stati, the Ministry of Culture has disappointed the expectations of artists, by arbitrarily and shamefully excluding them from the solidarity initiatives set up in favor of the informal sector, even though they were the first to be hit hard by the crisis.
He thus called on the Minister of Culture to "personally intervene to save these citizens who, through their works, bring joy and happiness to the Moroccan people", through urgent and concrete actions.
