Moroccan Siblings Sentenced to Prison for Incestuous Relationship

The court of first instance of Inezgane sentenced a brother and sister who were having an incestuous relationship, respectively to 5 and 2 years in prison.
The brother and sister were caught in the act of incest, after the husband of the latter, suspecting her of having an incestuous relationship with her brother, filed a complaint with the gendarmerie of the commune of Incheden in the province of Chtouka Ait Baha, reports the daily Assabah.
Having admitted the facts, the accused were placed in custody at the gendarmerie premises, before being brought before the court of first instance of Inezgane.
On July 27, the court handed down its verdict. It sentenced the brother to 5 years in prison and a fine of 5,000 dirhams for "adultery" and "sexual harassment". As for the sister, she was acquitted of her participation in the adultery, but was sentenced to 2 years in prison for other charges.
The two accused will also have to pay the husband the sum of 100,000 dirhams in damages.
