A married woman living in Imintanout was sentenced to 5 months in prison for adultery. Her lover, on the other hand, was acquitted, as his wife had waived the legal action.
The facts date back to last Saturday, when the two lovers were caught in flagrante delicto by a brigade of the Royal Gendarmerie in a secluded area outside the city.
According to the daily Assabah, the 36-year-old woman, who was in constant conflict with her husband, had been having a secret relationship with her lover for several months.
During his interrogation, the man admitted to having an extramarital affair with the married woman, stating that they had made a habit of meeting.
