New Moroccan Shipping Company to Launch Passenger and Freight Services

A new shipping company with 100% Moroccan capital is about to start its activities. Morocco Cruise Line will now operate in the passenger transit segment via the Mediterranean and in freight destined for West African ports.
The authorization to start its passenger transport activities, delayed by the health crisis, was confirmed during the month of July by the Ministry of Equipment, Transport and Logistics. The total cost of the project is estimated at around 600 million DH. According to Le 360, the first freight lines should start before the end of 2020.
This new shipping company, which wants to support Moroccan operators by designing maritime connections dedicated to the continent (from Tangier to Abidjan, via Dakhla), was financed by Mohamed Laâziz Kadiri, the boss of LK Invest, the main developer.
He was also accompanied by AEM Holding (owned by the El Moutie family, specialist in urban transport through the City Bus group) and Sidi Mohamed Majid Idrissi, former director of the Hassan II Foundation for the social works of former soldiers.
