Moroccan Radio Station Mars Secures Approval for New Satellite TV Channel

The High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HACA) has given its in-principle agreement for the broadcasting of the new satellite TV channel, "Mars TV".
According to the daily Assabah, marathon meetings lasting more than two months have taken place between the channel’s managers, Hicham Lakhlifi and Lino Bacco, and those of the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HACA).
The study of the file of the new satellite channel, which covered the legal, editorial, economic, financial and technical aspects, was followed by an evaluation of the project, based on the constitutional principles of freedom of expression and audiovisual communication.
The channel managers received the in-principle agreement as well as the details of the specifications for the needs of studies, before holding new sessions for the final signing of the operating license.
The daily adds that Hicham Lakhlifi should hold the position of General Manager of the new television channel, whose programs will be exclusively dedicated to sports and music.
