Moroccan Press Agency Names Six Influential Figures as 2019 Personalities of the Year

Six personalities who have marked the year 2019, through their professional careers or their civic initiatives in various Moroccan fields, have been elected by the journalists of the Moroccan Press Agency (MAP).
The six personalities, from various backgrounds, were chosen at the end of an internal survey conducted among some 300 MAP journalists. In the "Arts and Culture" category, the president of the National Foundation of Museums (FNM), Mehdi Qotbi, was chosen personality of the year. Achraf Hakimi, a Moroccan international playing for the German club Borussia Dortmund, was elected in the "Sports" category, best young African player in 2019 at the 28th edition of the CAF Awards. It is he who was awarded the title of personality of the year.
In the "Politics and Governance" category, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, Nasser Bourita, was chosen personality of the year, for his action that has contributed to promoting Moroccan diplomacy in the world. In "Social Action, Civic Initiative and Human Development", Aïcha Chenna’s commitment and dedication to the cause of single mothers earned her the title of personality of the year.
For having been awarded for the third consecutive year as one of the ten best central bank governors in the world, the Wali of Bank Al Maghrib, Abdellatif Jouahri, was elected personality of the year in the "Economy and Finance" category.
The late former director of the weekly "Al Ousboue Assahafi", Mustapha Alaoui, in the "Media, Communication, Internet and Social Networks" category, was named personality of the year 2019.
