"The Moroccan singer Samira Saïd is currently preparing many surprises for her fans in her next album, the most important being that she will do rap for the first time. The song should be a duet with the famous Congolese rapper Maître Gims," says the English-language site Egypttoday. Information to be taken with a grain of salt, of course...
Samira Saïd was born in Rabat in 1958 and "she started singing when she was only 9 years old," the media recalls. In 2003, she won the World Music Award (WMA) as Best Arabian singer in the Africa-Middle East category for the sales of her album Youm Wara Youm. Her duet with Cheb Mami, Youm Wara Youm, is featured on it.
As for the rapper, singer and composer Maître Gims, whose real name is Gandhi Djuna, he was born in 1986 in Kinshasa. After being part of the group Sexion d’Assaut, he began a solo career in 2013 with the album subliminal, which sold over a million copies. Until 2017, Maître Gims had sold more than 5 million albums in total. The artist resides a good part of the time in Morocco, where he owns a very beautiful property that he has not hesitated to reveal to his fans through videos.
