Moroccan Police Swiftly Recover Tourist’s Stolen Rolex and Valuables

Victim of a theft, a French tourist was able to witness the efficiency of the Moroccan law enforcement. As he was about to leave the police station, he wanted to share his experience, highlighting the speed of intervention and the professionalism of the Marrakech police.
The visibly still shaken tourist recounted the theft of his bag containing valuable items: a luxury watch estimated at more than 25,000 euros, 2,000 euros in cash, a passport and several bank cards. "There was a lot, a lot, a lot of money in it," he insisted.
Alerted, the police intervened in a few minutes. Thanks to their responsiveness and an efficient surveillance system, the agents quickly identified the suspect. "In 15 minutes, 20 minutes, the guy who stole my bag, he came back," said the tourist, specifying that the police convinced the thief to surrender.
Although the bag was found empty, the case had an unexpected outcome. At the police station, the suspect confessed, allowing the recovery of all the stolen goods. "The Rolex, the cash, to the last euro, my dirhams, all my credit cards, everything, everything, everything. I got everything back," the tourist affirmed, relieved.
This misadventure allowed the visitor to form a positive opinion of the security in Marrakech. "Before, people used to say, Morocco, it’s an unsecured country. It’s a country where you can get robbed. No! You’re wrong," he hammered. He praised the efficiency of the police and the presence of surveillance cameras, even comparing the ochre city to Dubai in terms of security.
"Honestly, the police in Morocco, hats off, excellent, excellent," he concluded, thanking the Moroccan law enforcement.
