A study has been conducted to assess the number of cameras needed to strengthen security in the city of Marrakech during the sporting events that Morocco is preparing to host, including the 2025 CAN and the 2030 World Cup. These cameras will be installed on the main roads, streets, neighborhoods and areas under the territorial jurisdiction of the Marrakech police prefecture, said the official in an interview with Assabah.
The Wali of Public Security confirmed that the surveillance cameras and other equipment intended to strengthen security and fight all forms of crime in the ochre city are available. Thus, the Marrakech police prefecture now has a modern command and coordination room, equipped with state-of-the-art screens, he said.
The official added that the camera recordings will be used in the context of criminal investigations, stressing that this equipment will ensure better security through preventive interventions aimed at effectively fighting crime in all its forms.
