Moroccan Police Sergeant Draws Weapon During Violent Arrest in Berrechid

During the arrest of three men threatening police officers, a police sergeant in Berrechid was forced, on Saturday, September 7, to draw his weapon without using it, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security.
A police patrol that intervened on Saturday, September 7, to arrest the three suspects involved in a neighborhood conflict, was faced with fierce opposition from the defendants, reports the MAP.
Indeed, the accused used bladed weapons, forcing the police sergeant to draw his service weapon, thus neutralizing the danger of a possible attack on a woman.
The three suspects had participated in violence between two families in the Hay El Hassani neighborhood in Berrechid. These included two repeat offender brothers and a third man who was also the subject of a national arrest warrant.
They were all arrested. Thus, the accused were immediately taken into custody and are under investigation conducted under the supervision of the Berrechid Prosecutor’s Office.
However, the investigation is ongoing to arrest other accomplices in these criminal acts, concludes the DGSN statement.
