Moroccan Police Seize 4.3 Tons of Drugs in Major Errachidia Bust

More than 4 tons of drugs have been seized by the police and gendarmerie forces since the beginning of the year in Errachidia.
The traffic in illegal products continues to thrive in the kingdom. Thus, more than four tons of chira, 300 kg of kif, 13 vehicles and the arrest of 16 people were seized. This was stated by the police commissioner, head of the anti-drug brigade of the regional judicial police service of Errachidia, Abdelali Maghraoui, in a statement on Thursday.
All of these security operations are part of the permanent coordination with the DGST. The security operation carried out last Wednesday and resulting in the seizure of one ton of chira on a farm in the Errachidia region is the seventh operation of its kind this year 2020. This recent operation is still ongoing in coordination and under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office, in order to apprehend all the people involved in this case and to determine the implications of the alleged mastermind of this traffic, a 44-year-old man arrested and held in custody in this criminal case.
In the same context, the police commissioner, head of the regional judicial police service of Errachidia, Ezzedine Abou Tayeb, stressed that this recent Wednesday operation adds to those successfully carried out jointly by the regional territorial surveillance service and the regional judicial police service in Errachidia. He also recalled that these operations aim to combat the phenomenon of international drug trafficking. He also indicated that the investigation will continue to determine the nature of the cars seized during the Wednesday operation on the farm and to arrest the other suspects involved in this case as indicated a little earlier by the DGSN, reports La Map.
