Moroccan Police Arrest Three in Major Drug Trafficking Bust

Three individuals aged 41 to 65, including two brothers, were arrested for drug and psychotropic trafficking. The operation was carried out by elements of the regional judicial police service in Errachidia.
Based on precise information provided by the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, the suspects were arrested at a road checkpoint in Rissani. The search operation carried out made it possible to find an amount of 500,000 dirhams in their possession. The sum would be the gain from the international drug and psychotropic trafficking, specifies the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a press release.
Based on the investigations carried out and the statements of the arrested individuals, the agents also located the drugs, previously hidden in a mountainous area in the rural commune of "Sidi Ali", located 150 km from the city of Rissani. It is a total quantity of 600 kg repackaged in the form of 24 packets of chira.
The suspects were placed in custody at the disposal of the investigation, conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, to determine the possible branches of this criminal activity and all the persons involved in these criminal acts.
