The police announced the seizure of 516 kg of cannabis, hidden in trucks in transit at the port of Tanger Med and destined for Spain. Arrests were made and an investigation has been opened.
This is a successful thwarting of drug trafficking by the police elements at the Tanger-Med port in coordination with the customs services, says the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), specifying that the drugs were hidden in three trucks transporting various goods, about to board for Spanish ports.
The searches made it possible to seize 152 kg of cannabis on board the first vehicle, 104 kg on board the second and 260 kg on board the third, for a total quantity of 516 kg in the form of specially prepared plates for international trafficking.
The investigations led to the arrest of four individuals, all Moroccans aged between 34 and 52. They were taken into custody for the purposes of the investigation conducted by the competent prosecutor’s office, in order to determine the local and international ramifications of this criminal activity.
