Moroccan Police Raid Hammam, Arrest Four Drug Traffickers in Biougra

The judicial police services of Biougra arrested four drug traffickers, aged between 26 and 34, in a traditional hammam located in a popular neighborhood of the city.

These drug traffickers with criminal records were arrested based on precise information provided by the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), reports the daily Akhbar. They were arrested "for their alleged links with a criminal gang involved in a case of assault with bladed weapons and the use of a firearm," the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) said in a statement.

"One of them was wanted nationwide for his involvement in drug and psychotropic drug cases, in addition to violence and kidnapping," the same source added, stating that after the arrest of the suspects, the police services proceeded to seize "a rental car, bladed weapons, a quantity of psychotropic tablets and mobile phones."

The investigation continues under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office in order to dismantle this criminal network and arrest all the people involved in this drug trafficking. The suspects, taken into custody, will remain at the disposal of the investigation conducted in coordination with the elements of the Royal Gendarmerie of Oulad Teïma, where violent clashes between drug traffickers "with the use of bladed weapons and a firearm" had taken place on May 20.
