Major Drug Kingpin and Associates Arrested in Morocco’s El Jadida Region

Based on the elements of the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ), the elements of the National Brigade of the Judicial Police (BNPJ) succeeded in arresting a drug baron and four other individuals suspected of being involved in an international network.
On the orders of the investigating judge at the Court of First Instance in El Jadida, the drug baron known as "Hamdoune", his brother, two young women and a fifth individual were placed in pre-trial detention. Arrested in one of the trafficker’s warehouses, near Jorf Lasfar, these individuals are all being prosecuted for their alleged involvement in an international criminal network specializing in drug trafficking, reports the Arabic daily Assabah.

These arrests were only possible thanks to the precise information provided by the services of the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), based on telephone tappings. These wiretaps suggest that there is a criminal network specializing in drug trafficking active on the Atlantic coast of Bouznika, Jorf Lasfar, passing through Casablanca. This network would have acted with the complicity of high-ranking officials in El Jadida, including elected officials.
