Moroccan Police Foil Illegal Border Crossing Attempt at Nador-Melilla Fence

The Moroccan forces operating in Nador succeeded in thwarting, on Sunday, an attempt at illegal immigration through the scaling of the iron fence between Nador and Melilla, by about thirty immigrants.
The operation carried out by the city’s brigade first made it possible to arrest seven individuals of Sudanese and Burkinabe nationality, immediately after their arrival in Nador, equipped with iron tools specially designed for climbing the fence, according to a statement from the DGSN.
As part of the continuation of the investigation, the Nador police, in collaboration with that of Oujda, apprehended a second group of 24 additional candidates of different nationalities, who were about to go to Nador to participate in the same operation using similar equipment.
The suspects were taken into custody. The investigation continues under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office to identify all the people involved in this case.
