Moroccan Police Bust Luxury Villa Burglary Ring in Fez, Arrest 5 Suspects

The judicial police of Fez arrested five members of an organized gang of luxury villa burglars. They will be prosecuted before the competent public prosecutor’s office.

The individuals, including a minor around 15 years old, were arrested following investigations carried out by the judicial police of Fez, after receiving a complaint for home invasion and burglary of a villa, reports the daily Assabah.

The fingerprints collected at the scene allowed the identification of one of the suspects, whose home was then searched, leading to the seizure of several valuable items (luxury watches, laptop, tablets, jewelry, mobile phones, etc.) and a sum of 40,000 dirhams.

The results of the investigation, opened by the judicial police of the city, revealed that the apprehended individual was not alone in committing these offenses. Questioned, he eventually confessed that he was acting with others, in an organized gang. Their modus operandi was to target the villas of wealthy owners and burglarize them. The role of the teenager, in these well-planned burglary plans, was to provide surveillance outside while the others operated.

Two fences were also arrested, after the search of their homes which allowed the seizure of stolen jewelry. Similarly, the father of the minor child was also arrested, after the discovery of a stolen television at his home.

As for the main accused, he was placed in custody. The minor, on the other hand, is under judicial supervision, while the three other accomplices were released. At the end of the investigation, they will all be prosecuted before the competent public prosecutor’s office of the city.
