Former Moroccan MP’s Home Burglarized: Over $250,000 in Cash and Valuables Stolen

Criminals recently managed to break into the home of a former parliamentarian in Rabat, despite the security devices in place. The stolen loot was estimated at over 2.5 million dirhams, including part in foreign currency.
The burglars took more than 1 million dirhams in Moroccan currency, and 300,000 dirhams in foreign currency, reports the daily Assabah, which mentions the possibility of a planned burglary.
The newspaper adds that precious objects, worth more than 1 million dirhams, were also stolen from the former parliamentary deputy’s home, including jewelry and branded watches.
The preliminary investigation, conducted by the judicial police services of Rabat, made it possible to identify the main author of the burglary. It is, specifies the same source, a close associate of the villa’s guard, who did not hesitate to denounce his accomplices.
