Moroccan Police Bust International Prostitution and Human Trafficking Ring
The authorities have dismantled in Imzouren, in the province of Al Hoceima, a vast network of prostitution and illegal migration led by Moroccans residing in Europe. Several people were arrested during the police operation.
It all started with a complaint filed by a woman — whose daughter had emigrated illegally to a European country, through the network, to be exploited in prostitution — with the authorities at a time when the two masterminds of the criminal network were expecting to welcome the girls whose recruitment was carried out by a leader’s brother and an intermediary, according to Assabah. The network members had asked her for money to guarantee the physical safety of her daughter. This is how the authorities opened an investigation.
The complainant was involved. She accepted the blackmail of the cartel members to preserve the physical integrity of her daughter. While the network members were receiving the complainant’s money, they were arrested by the investigators. The authorities discovered that two of the suspects are involved in other illegal migration operations in exchange for various sums of money. They also exploited the beneficiaries of these operations in illegal activities. Their relatives have also been subjected to blackmail by the network members.
