Moroccan Police Arrest 4 Suspects in Ouarzazate Bank Heist

Just over a week after the spectacular robbery of an Al Barid Bank branch in the Ouarzazate region, the police have just announced the arrest of four individuals involved.
In a press release, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicates that it has proceeded to arrest "four individuals, including a repeat offender subject to five arrest warrants for various crimes and offenses, suspected of being linked to the criminal network behind the robbery, on April 12, of an Al Barid Bank branch in the commune of ’Tarmigt’ (province of Ouarzazate)".
The three main robbers, including two brothers, were arrested in the Bouskoura area and the Sbata district in Casablanca, the police said, adding that "a fourth accomplice was also apprehended for having provided accommodation to the perpetrators of this crime".
During the searches carried out by the police officers, "2,025,000 dirhams and other sums of money in various European, American and Saudi currencies were discovered, as well as identity documents belonging to third parties and tools used in the robbery: a flashlight and a balaclava".
The investigation continues to elucidate the exact circumstances of this case and to try to get hold of the accomplices of this robbery and determine "the possible complicity of the branch manager with the members of this network".
