Moroccan Police Arrest Fraudster Impersonating Royal Palace Colonel

Based on information provided by the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), the elements of the judicial police of Tabriquet, in Salé, arrested an individual who was posing as a colonel on a mission at the royal palace, to defraud his victims.
The curtain has fallen on the alleged scammer of Tabriquet. On Saturday, the judicial police of Salé-Tabriquet managed to arrest him after he fled his victims to take refuge in a dwelling in the Tabriquet district, reports the Arabic daily Assabah. During his arrest, insignia, badges, parade breastplates, passes, a military uniform of the Infantry, an officer’s beret, lieutenant-colonel rank epaulettes, national identity cards, cards of the Rabita of the Idrissid Chorfa, a seal bearing the name of a princess’s sister and other objects were seized. After being brought before the competent prosecutor’s office on Monday, the accused was remanded in custody for the investigators.
Known as "Chérif", the arrested man was posing as a colonel on a mission at the royal palace. He infiltrated several public administrations and security services in the province. The alleged scammer is accused of having defrauded young people looking for jobs and others wishing to obtain visas for the European Union or to join the auxiliary forces.
