Moroccan Police Arrest Man Impersonating Royal Palace Official in Extortion Scheme

The judicial police of Rabat proceeded, on Thursday, June 1, to the arrest of a man suspected of usurping the identity of a senior official of the Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery.
This individual is said to have tried to extort various public and private structures, by posing as this official, indicates a press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
This pseudo-official tried to deceive officials of organizations by sending them text messages, requesting various services and privileges for another person.
It was when he went to a public establishment to benefit from these services that the individual was apprehended in the act. An investigation has been initiated to unravel all the aspects of this case and to verify if others have been victims of his criminal acts.
