Moroccan Court Sentences Palace Impersonator to 3 Years for Fraud Scheme

The fifty-year-old who had usurped the position of mission officer in the royal cabinet in Rabat was sentenced by the court of first instance in Salé.
The court of first instance in Salé sentenced the man to three years in prison for usurpation of a function governed by law, fraud and forgery and use of forgery. He was posing as a mission officer in the royal cabinet in Rabat and had managed to swindle young people looking for a job, particularly in the national security services, but also other people to whom they had promised to intervene in their favor in the courts or certain public administrations to settle their problems. Based on this information that the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) transmitted to him, the anti-gang brigade of the provincial security of Salé was able to arrest the fifty-year-old in the Bab Lamriss district, reports the Arabic-language daily Assabah.
The investigators also seized baccalaureate diplomas, university degrees, résumés, summons to appear for the police exam, a "walkie-talkie" device resembling those used by the security services, fourteen bank cards, money orders, six mobile phones, a service vehicle pass and sums of money in dirhams and foreign currency, as well as several other objects. After being brought before the competent prosecutor’s office, the one who is known as "Chrif" was prosecuted in detention, then tried for usurpation of a function governed by law, fraud and forgery and use of forgery in the court of first instance in Salé.
