Parents in Salé Protest Shisha Cafes Near Schools, Demand Action

The establishment of shisha cafes near school premises in Salé is not to the liking of parents of students. They are calling on the competent authorities to put an end to this phenomenon that is spreading in the city.
Shisha cafes are numerous in the Marina Salé area, on Boulevard de Lalla Meryem and Boulevard de Lalla Amina in the Al Mazraa district of Tabriquet-Salé. In the sights of the inhabitants of the city, an establishment closed in February 2022 following a police raid. The competent authorities had ordered its closure. Unexpectedly, the cafe has resumed its activity near two schools, a qualifying high school and a college, to the general surprise of the inhabitants, reports the Arabic daily Al Akhbar.
Has the administrative procedure been respected in the context of the relaunch of the cafe’s activity? The inhabitants have called on the local authorities to play their role. They also seized the justice system, which should render a decision on the case.
