Moroccan Pharmacist Kills Wife, Self After Divorce Request in Skhirat Tragedy

The city of Skhirat woke up on Wednesday, September 11, to a horrible domestic homicide. The perpetrator of the crime is a pharmacist who committed suicide an hour after shooting his wife 4 times.
The crime, the motive of which was a divorce procedure that the perpetrator rejected, was committed early on Wednesday, September 11, in front of the victim’s pharmacy as she was about to park her car, reports the website Akhbarona.
The perpetrator of the tragedy, who was known for his kindness and good manners, was in fact very violent with his wife, despite the love he had for her. This character ultimately harassed her, leading the victim to leave the marital home and initiate divorce proceedings.
Categorically refusing the divorce, her husband continued to harass her, prompting the victim to file a complaint with the Royal Gendarmerie for harassment and threats.
Armed with a hunting rifle on Wednesday morning, he headed very early to his wife’s pharmacy, where he shot her 4 times, wounding her brother-in-law in the shoulder in the process, before committing suicide an hour later. A tragic end for a couple highly appreciated throughout the neighborhood. They leave behind three orphans.
An investigation, initiated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, has been opened by the judicial police services to determine the circumstances of the crime.
