Moroccan Parliament Urges Protection of Vulnerable Oases Amid Summer Fire Threats

The Moroccan Parliament calls for the protection of the oases in the Tata region and other regions of the country threatened by fires every summer. The parliamentary group of the Justice and Development Party (PJD) has addressed a written question to the Minister of the Interior, Abdelatif Laftit, in this regard.
In its written question, the PJD parliamentary group returned to the devastating fire that hit the Addis oasis, in the Addis community, in the Tata region, on July 25 and caused heavy material losses to the inhabitants, reports Maroc Diplomatique. It was not until the next day that the rescue services were able to bring the fire under control. The Islamist party fears that the Tamanart oasis, the Alokum oasis, the Foum Al Hosn oasis and other oases, which have been victims of the flames and drought in recent years, will suffer the same fate.
