In a press release, the office announced that the House of Representatives will continue its constitutional mission on a regular basis. This is why, in accordance with the provisions of Article 65 of the Constitution, the opening of the 2nd legislative session is scheduled for April 10, 2020. This decision was made following a meeting on Monday of the Bureau of the House of Representatives, under the chairmanship of Habib El Malki.

Among the items on the agenda are the monthly question sessions with the Head of Government, scheduled for April 13 and May 25. In addition, there is a provisional program for the sectors of health, finance, commerce, interior, national education and health. The office also transmitted to the relevant commissions draft laws in the fields of the environment, the regulation of the accounting profession, the fight against money laundering, and legislative proposals.

The House of Representatives Bureau praised the efforts made by the standing committees during the period between the two sessions. The meeting of the commission on the social sectors, in the presence of the Minister of Health, is dedicated to monitoring the efforts made to limit the spread of the coronavirus.

Other commissions have also held meetings devoted to drought, the special fund for the management of covid-19 and the state of emergency with the ministers of the sectors concerned.

With regard to the relationship between the House of Representatives and the government, the office decided to send the Head of Government a letter relating to the practice of its control role and the means of adapting it to the situation of the current health emergency.
