Moroccan Parliament Members Donate Monthly Allowance to COVID-19 Fund

The House of Representatives has confirmed the deduction of one month’s parliamentary allowance for the benefit of the Special Covid-19 Fund.
In a message posted on the parliament’s website, the President of the House of Representatives, Habib El Malki, confirmed on Wednesday that one month’s parliamentary allowance has already been deducted from the remuneration of all deputies last March.
The institution also recalls that its initiative is based on the decision of the two Chambers of Parliament to contribute to the national mobilization efforts undertaken by various components of the country to reduce the repercussions, but also the risks of this pandemic.
It did not fail to threaten "to take all measures against campaigns to distort the legislative institution, to underestimate its work and to deceive public opinion".
