Moroccan Paratroopers Win Gold at International Army Games in Russia

The First Parachute Infantry Brigade of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) won the Gold Medal at the 2019 International Army Games, recently organized by Russia and Belarus.
Morocco was one of the 21 foreign military delegations present at these Games. Several endurance and combat disciplines were selected for this edition.
The operational parachutists of the First Parachute Infantry Brigade participated in the Landing Precision event, reports the newspaper Le Matin. It took place on August 12, 2019 in Pskov, Russia. It was contested by twelve countries, namely South Africa, Algeria, Belarus, China, Cuba, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia, Sri Lanka, Venezuela and Morocco. For this event, the participants used an MI-8 helicopter at an altitude of 1,200 m.
In the end, the three Moroccan operational parachutists from the First Parachute Infantry Brigade put in an excellent performance by winning the first place on the podium. They were awarded a Certificate bearing the mention "Soldier with an Iron Character".
The same source specifies that in addition to the participation of the First Parachute Infantry Brigade in the Landing Precision competitions, other units of the Royal Armed Forces took part in this edition of the International Army Games. This participation of FAR units in this international competition is the 3rd after the 2017 and 2018 editions.
