Moroccan Olympic Champion El-Bakkali Among 43 Athletes Training in Ifrane for Upcoming Championships

Several Moroccan athletes, members of the national athletics team, are currently in a training camp in Ifrane for the upcoming long-distance and middle-distance championships.
Some 43 long-distance and middle-distance runners are participating in this gathering. Among them is the Olympic champion in the 3000m steeplechase, Soufiane El-Bakkali, accompanied by his teammates in the group of coach Karim Tlemçani. The training camp ends at the end of the month with a visit to the National Institute of Athletics in Rabat, reports the daily Assabah.
The second group is composed of Ali Zine, Karim Ait Lhaj and Anas Lmoudden. They will leave Ifrane at the end of the week to join the National Institute of Athletics in Rabat where they will continue their preparations.
Moroccan athletes have a very busy schedule. It is first of all the World Indoor Athletics Championships taking place from March 18 to 20, as well as the Rabat International Marathon scheduled for March 21. There is also the half marathon scheduled in Yangzhou, China, on March 27. But due to the pandemic, some doubts still hang over this last event.
