Moroccan Officials Face Charges Over COVID-19 Outbreak at Fruit Packaging Plants

Judicial proceedings have been initiated against several managers and officials responsible for the transport of red fruit packaging entities as part of the judicial investigation into the coronavirus outbreaks in Lalla Mimouna.
At the end of the conclusions of this investigation, these persons and officials are being prosecuted for violation of Article 4 of Decree-Law No. 2-20-292 of March 23, 2020 relating to the declaration of the state of health emergency, said the Prosecutor of the King near the court of first instance in Souk Larbâa on Wednesday.
Arrested, the accused will soon be brought to justice to answer for their actions. A month ago, the Prosecutor of the King near the Court of Appeal of Kénitra had ordered the opening of a judicial investigation.
It had been entrusted to the National Brigade of the Royal Gendarmerie at the end of the administrative investigation opened, to determine the criminal offenses proportional to the responsibilities of the defendants in the outbreak of the three Covid-19 clusters in the commune of Lalla Mimouna.
