Moroccan Officials Abandon Posts for Illegal US Immigration, Sparking Controversy
If there is a practice that is gaining momentum in Morocco, it is the emigration of elected officials from the Party of Justice and Development (PJD). They use their status as elected officials to emigrate to the American continent, to the detriment of the citizens who elected them and whom they are supposed to serve.
Election serves as a springboard for immigration for many PJD (Party of Justice and Development) executives. Once elected, they prepare their immigration file in the strictest secrecy, and end up leaving their constituency in complete discretion.
This is the case of Rachid Brima, vice-president of the Ben M’sik municipal district, and, moreover, regional secretary of the PJD youth, in the Casablanca-Settat region. This elected official has already settled in Canada. He had paved the way for his immigration by creating a company in the field of communication and events, indicates the daily Assabah.
He will not be the only one. Yacine Tayeî, another member of the PJD youth, has also immigrated to Canada. The latter held the position of PJD provincial secretary in the prefecture of Ben M’sik. Just like Rachid Brima, he prepared his immigration in complete secrecy.
Even before them, A.B., vice-president of the Maârif district council and member of the Casablanca city council, had flown to the United States, details the same source.
