Moroccan Official Suspended for Harassing American Peace Corps Volunteer

The governor of the province of Boulemane has decided to suspend from his duties, an authority agent with the title of Caid, in the municipality of Arjane, accused of harassment against an American volunteer, member of the American Organization for Peace.
While staying in the region, the American national had informed the American Consulate of the harassment she had been subjected to by the municipal official.
Things could have stopped at the stage of verbal harassment, if the accused, in his thirties, had not tried one evening to break into the victim’s home, with the help of his assistant.
Alerted by the American Consulate, the provincial governor immediately took disciplinary action against him, suspending him permanently from his duties.
