Moroccan Official Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault of High School Students

Accused of sexually assaulting underage students in a high school where he worked as a supervisor, a local elected official was arrested and taken into custody in Imouzzer Kandar (Fez region). An investigation has been opened.
According to the daily Al Akhbar, it was the dissemination of a compromising video showing "the supervisor harassing verbally and physically a student who had studied in the school where he worked" that prompted the authorities of the province of Sefrou to investigate the supervisor who had become a local elected official. Very quickly, other videos were disseminated proving that the latter was a regular offender.
Arrested, he was confronted with the videos and numerous complaints, including that of a 14-year-old girl, "supported by audio recordings suggesting how the accused tried to manipulate the young student by making advances and indecent proposals to her." The president of the National Human Rights Observatory, Leila Mernissi, said that the 14-year-old victim had made "a request for psychological support following the dissemination of the video in question."
Questioned earlier this week by the judicial police of the city of Imouzzer Kandar, the local elected official was brought before the prosecutor of the king near the court of first instance of Sefrou on Thursday.
