Moroccan Nurse Jailed for Bribery in Patient Care Scandal
The Correctional Chamber near the Court of First Instance in El Jadida sentenced a nurse working at the Regional Hospital in the city to two months of actual imprisonment accompanied by a fine of 2,000 dirhams, for corruption.
She pays dearly for the violation of ethics. The corrupt nurse who was bribed by the son of a patient was sentenced to two months of actual imprisonment accompanied by a fine of 2,000 dirhams, reports Aujourd’hui Le Maroc. Indeed, she demanded money in exchange for the care she was supposed to provide to the patient who was the victim of a traffic accident.
During her appearance, the nurse completely denied the charges against her before the Court of First Instance in El Jadida. Recounting the facts, she implied that the plaintiff stood in front of her before throwing a two-hundred-dirham bill at her feet and leaving. In less than a few seconds, the Police elements entered to arrest her, she said.
For his part, the plaintiff gave another version of the facts before the court. He stated that the nurse had asked him for more than 200 dirhams to take care of his injured father. After negotiation, she agreed to take just 200, he said.
