Fake Lawyer in Morocco Sentenced to 2 Years for Scamming Court Litigants

The Correctional Chamber near the Court of First Instance of Imintanout sentenced an impostor to two years in prison with a fine of 5,000 dirhams. He usurped the title of lawyer.
After being fired by a law firm where he had worked for several months, a young man used the knowledge he had acquired in legal procedures to scam, reports Aujoud’hui Le Maroc.
His strategy is quite simple: he offers his services to litigants he meets in the halls of the courts for fees. When the "client" accepts, he pays a deposit to the fake lawyer before disappearing into thin air.
It took a complaint from one of his victims, filed with the Provincial Brigade of the Judicial Police of Chichaoua, for the scammer to finally be unmasked. The police elements indeed conducted an investigation that led to his arrest.
