The Court of First Instance of Agadir sentenced a notary to five years in prison for breach of trust and issuing a check without provision.
In addition to the prison sentence, the notary was also fined 100,000 dirhams. He is also required to pay the plaintiff 18,380,311 dirhams, plus one million dirhams. He was prosecuted for breach of trust and issuing checks without provision, but was acquitted on the charge of fraud, reports the Arabic daily Assabah.

Arrested, he will be brought before the Public Prosecutor’s Office last May. His first hearing in custody took place on August 26.
