Moroccan Mosque Burglar Sentenced to 5 Years in Prison

The criminal chamber of the Court of Appeal of El Jadida handed down its verdict against the burglar of the mosque of El Jadida. The repeat offender was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
The defendant, a repeat offender who served a prison sentence for assault on an ascendant and drug use, admitted the crime after his arrest, reports Aujourd’hui le Maroc.
In his explanations, he indicates that he climbed to the top of a tree to sneak into the mosque through a window. Once inside the place of worship, he stole a wall clock and a small sum he found in a donation box.
Alerted, the elements of the judicial police went to the scene and managed to identify the criminal thanks to the surveillance cameras installed near the mosque by merchants and some residents.
