Second Mosque Fire in Lyon Area Raises Concerns; No Injuries Reported

A fire broke out at the Essalem mosque in Perrache, in the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon. Just like the fire at the Omar mosque in the city of Bron, no injuries were reported.
This mosque is the 2nd Muslim place of worship to catch fire in France in a week. The initial findings indicate that the fire broke out at the entrance. Damage was also recorded inside the building.
On his Twitter account, Pierre Olivier, mayor of the 2nd arrondissement of the city of Lyon, expressed his support for the worshippers of the Essalem mosque, firmly condemning the fire.
Kamel Kabtane, rector of the Grand Mosque of Lyon, also condemned the fire. According to him, the criminals of the night are still at work. "Until when?" he wondered.
Earlier this week, the Omar mosque in the city of Bron was set on fire. Several damages were caused by this arson attack with two outbreaks detected.
