Moroccan Minister’s Husband Resigns Amid Nepotism Allegations

Under fire for having appointed her husband as director of her office and then as an advisor, Aawatif Hayar, Minister of Solidarity, has just put an end to the controversy. Her spouse has left the ministry.
El Mkaddem Kheddioui, the husband of the Minister of Solidarity, Aawatif Hayar, has definitively left the ministry, reports Al Ahdath Al Maghribia. His wife is accused of nepotism for having appointed him as head of her office and then as an advisor. Two different appointments that were viewed in a bad light by officials within the ministry, particularly its secretary general.
It is reproached to the representative of the Istiqlal party in the government of Aziz Akhannouch to have entrusted her spouse with great responsibilities and prerogatives within the ministry, in particular the supervision of the implementation of the new development model in the sectors of solidarity, social inclusion and family.
Faced with the controversy, El Mkaddem Kheddioui had to leave the ministry.
