Tangier Child Abuse Investigation: CNDH Urges Probe into Social Center Allegations

The National Human Rights Council (CNDH) has requested the opening of an investigation by the public prosecutor’s office of the Tangier court, after being informed of alleged cases of sexual abuse of minors in a social center in the city.
The CNDH has transmitted to the presidency of the public prosecutor’s office the results of its investigations into this case, the institution says in a statement quoted by Alyaoum24. The CNDH claims to have heard testimonies from young people still residing in this center, confiding that they have been victims of sexual abuse, violence and ill-treatment by some officials of the center, including two Spanish nationals.

"What was committed in this social institution by its managers would constitute a serious violation of the rights of children and punishable acts by law," argues the Council, which states that it has informed the Ministry of Solidarity, Social Integration and the Family of this matter so that an administrative investigation can also be carried out to determine responsibilities and protect the rights of minors in this center.
