Moroccan Military Mobilizes Near Guerguerat Border Amid Polisario Blockade

A convoy of several armored vehicles headed, on Friday, towards the Guerguerat area, on the border between Morocco and Mauritania, where a handful of Polisario militiamen are preventing the circulation of trucks.
A battalion of the Royal Armed Forces would have received the order to deploy at the level of this area, and would currently be positioned 3 kilometers from the southern border, reports the site Achkayen.
For the time being, and in the absence of an official communiqué from the FAR high command, all scenarios remain possible, continues the same source, especially since the closure of this crossing point has caused a lot of damage to economic operators.
About fifty members of the Polisario front landed on October 21 in the no man’s land separating Morocco and Mauritania. Armed with stones and tires, they are stationed there despite the call from UN officials.
