Moroccan Midfielder Selim Amallah Eyes Potential Move to Italian Club Amid Contract Standoff

Despite the interest that Selim Amallah arouses within several European clubs, it is not a mad rush at the gate of the Standard to recruit the Moroccan player.
A few days before the end of the winter transfer window, the situation of the Moroccan international is still unclear. Since he refused to extend his contract with Standard, Selim Amallah is no longer in the good graces of Pierre locht, the club’s director. As a punishment, he is sent back to group B, far from training sessions and matches.
According to footnews, as the player’s contract expires next summer, the interested clubs are taking their time in order to make the right deal with the player directly. This is the case of Torino Football Club, which has indicated that the player has the desired profile, but prefers to wait until he is free of any contract. Bad news for the Liège club, which hopes to recover at least 500,000 euros from the transfer of Amallah, even if it is largely below the amount (1.5 million euros) spent by the club to recruit him in 2019.
Before everything went wrong for the Moroccan player, he had started a very good season with four goals scored in nine Jupiler Pro League matches. Selim Amallah was hoping that his good performance at the World Cup would plead in his favor for a return to the A-team. But his situation has not changed. Even the #FreeAmallah campaign launched by Moroccan supporters towards the club has not had the desired effect.
