Moroccan Man Kills Mother in Meknes: Expat Suspect Arrested for Brutal Strangulation

A former Moroccan expatriate living in Spain killed his mother by strangling her last Sunday, in the Sidi Omar neighborhood of Meknes. The violence of the crime has shocked all the residents, who are wondering how such a tragedy could have occurred.
The victim was 65 years old. She was struck with a television set and then strangled with the electrical power cord by her 42-year-old son.
The aggressor was supposed to return to Spain where he resided, but due to health problems, he remained in Morocco. He would even be under medical treatment for psychological disorders.
He was arrested by the police a few hours after the tragedy and placed in custody. The body of his mother was transferred to the morgue of the Mohamed V hospital in the city. An investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
